Happy Wednesday; We have made it halfway through half the week, thank goodness! I mentioned previously (here) that I recently returned from a weekend trip to the Hamptons with one of my girlfriends, Stephanie Hollman. I have to say that the minute we arrived I fell in love with the charm of the Hamptons. I was amazed with the lush landscape, it was as if I had gone to hydrangea heaven. It seemed that everywhere I turned I was greeted by these grandiose hydrangea bushes and wild flowers. All of the homes and shops were made of a classic wood shake siding and always lined with the most welcoming flowers. We stayed at a quaint B&B called the BridgeHampton Inn, centrally located between South Hampton and East Hampton. This ended up being the perfect location as it is about a fifteen minute drive between the town towns.
Our first day we were wiped out from an early morning flight, lunch in the city and the long drive to the Hamptons. Once we checked into our room we quickly changed and made our way down to the garden to enjoy a glass of wine. After sipping on a glass of cold pinot grigio (or two) it was time to enjoy a lovely seafood dinner.
The next morning we were up and at it early with the intention of taking blog photos and touring the town. Unfortunately, nature had a different plan for us. It ended up raining the minute we got downstairs for breakfast, but thankfully stopped around lunch time. We walked down the street for lunch a one of Bridgehampton’s hot spots, Bobby Van’s, where I enjoyed a lobster roll. After lunch we strolled over to the Topping Rose House, which is where we originally planned to stay, however it was booked. While casually sipping on a glass of wine at the bar of the Topper House, I glanced over and to my delight I saw Jimmy Fallon and his wife having lunch. It was so funny to hear everyone start talking about him the minute they left. We did not leave much later after that as we had to get ready for the Bella Magazine White Party.
We rushed back to our hotel and quickly got ready to attend the Bella Magazine White Party where we were surrounded by so many amazing people. In attendance were several women from the Bravo Housewives franchise, Summer House and hosting the party was Girls Guide to Divorce. It was so fun mixing and mingling while sipping Rose’. If you have not heard, everyone in the Hamptons seems to be all about the Rose’ all day. It literally flows there and seems to be the only drink that is ordered there! After the party we went to dinner and had a nightcap back at our hotel in the garden.
Our last morning we enjoyed one last brunch in the garden before heading out to tour East Hampton. In East Hampton, we shopped at the famous shopping area at Main and Newtown. Followed by lunch al fresco before having to grab our bags to head home.
I’m looking forward to my next trip to the Hamptons, I feel like there is so much to see and do there that you really need to spend a week there to see everything. Next time I would really like to see Montauk, Sag Harbor, and spend more time exploring South Hampton.
