Happy Thursday! I’m still unwinding and getting back in the groove of things after returning from a family vacation to Los Angeles. My mother-in-law, my husband and myself flew out last Thursday for a four day mini vacation.
We stayed in one of my favorite areas, Beverly Hills, and stayed at the famous Beverly Hilton. I love that hotel not only because it is rich in history but the location and value are unbeatable. Don’t get me wrong, I love staying at the Beverly Hills Hotel, but a girl has got bills to pay!
We divided our trip and sightseeing up by location and day. One of my favorite things to do when visiting any city is to take a tour and get acclimated with the area. To me, when you are visiting Beverly Hills, a celebrity home tour is a must! We spent our first day touring all the hot spots within the Beverly Hills/ Hollywood area, stopping in for lunch at the famous Polo Lounge located in the Beverly Hills Hotel.
Our second day we got up early and hit the road to Malibu. We wanted to get out before the traffic on the PCH got too congested. We had a fabulous lunch in Malibu overlooking the ocean at a restaurant called Dukes. We were able to watch a school of dolphins swim by as we sat and ate lunch!
The following day we wanted to see everything Santa Monica had to offer. We booked brunch at the Penthouse located in the Huntley Hotel. They have the best views of the beach in Santa Monica and a neighborhood view off the back of the hotel. After brunch we walked along Ocean Avenue and enjoyed the street fair that was going on.
On our last day we went to West Hollywood and stopped in for lunch at the Ivy for some star gazing. Sadly, we did not see any celebrities although this restaurant is touted for being a celebrity hot spot!
